During a working visit to the Zhambyl Region, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, visited the Taraz Small Industrial Zone. The Head of State was presented with projects aimed at attracting investment to the region and developing the agro-industrial complex.

The President was briefed on the ongoing efforts to industrialize the economy, develop livestock farming, process agricultural products, diversify crop areas, and introduce water-saving technologies. In addition, information was presented on the region’s investment pool. This year, the region attracted investments totaling 599.2 billion tenge, which is 33 percent higher compared to the previous period. Over the past two years, 56 investment projects have been implemented in the region.
The Head of State also familiarized himself with an investment project for the production of mineral fertilizers by one of the region’s leading enterprises, Kazphosphate LLP. The investment project was presented by the company’s General Director, Yevgeny Gennadyevich Pak, who outlined the prospective production capacities.
It should be noted that the construction of a large chemical complex in the city of Zhanatas is planned to be completed in 2028. Once the facility is commissioned, permanent employment will be provided for 1,200 qualified specialists. The enterprise’s annual production capacity will amount to 1 million tonnes of ammophos. The goal of the project is to expand the product range with high-quality products under the MAP, DAP, and NPK brands. Premium-quality ammophos will subsequently be supplied to both domestic and international markets. The total volume of investments for the project amounts to KZT 300 billion.
The General Director of Kazphosphate LLP, briefing the President on the current state and future development prospects of the company’s production, presented the key performance indicators for 2025. In the Year of Working Professions, the enterprise is concluding the year with record production results. Specifically, ammophos output in the current year reached 750 thousand tonnes, which is 58 percent higher than last year’s figures. In addition, 345 thousand tonnes of sulfuric acid and 24 thousand tonnes of tricalcium phosphate were produced—representing the highest results over the past four years. The company exports its products to 15 countries across three continents. The implementation of the new investment project will significantly expand the export geography.
Summing up the results of the Year of Working Professions, the company introduced a “medical allowance” support system. Employees’ wages were increased, with the average salary reaching KZT 522 thousand. Under the collective labor agreement, the company, which employs 3,148 people, provided social support totaling KZT 671 million in the current year. Concluding the briefing, the General Director noted that efforts to develop production and implement investment projects will continue.
